i love the canyon, especially in the middle of HOT july! it was a pleasant 75 degrees and the wildflowers...wow. it's sort of become tradition to go up the canyon during the summer. although we always seem to miss the flower season and get the end of it, where there is a small patch still alive and we try desperately to get that coveted shot, but you only have about a minute to try and capture it, because after that minute, the flower petals lay wilted on the ground. they must have recognized me at the gate, as i was driving away she yells "please don't pick our flowers" okay i laugh, wouldn't want that to happen.
anyway, we remembered to go up a couple weeks earlier this year and am so glad we did. i had so much fun and so did my kids. we took a little picnic that all the flies enjoyed, not my children, they were begging food off everyone else.
we had fun trampeling the flowers. i tried to get some good photos, but i will blame it on my camera. it takes a good 30 seconds of holding down the button to get a picture. alas, you will find some good ones
here and
here.
oh dear, someone needs to go potty. run ella run.

I agree, Cristelle! We went up to Cecret Lake Saturday and finally we caught the wildflowers in full bloom! What a beautiful world, and to me, there is nothing better than an old fashioned picnic/cookout in the mountains!!! Thanks for sharing...
