Who would have imagined how this evening would have ended. After a glorious birthday celebration: a horrific accident. My grandpa turned 80 on Friday. We had such a blast driving down south for the occasion. He was surprised as could be! That was the glorious part! Mom was blowing us all away with her amazing bowling skills. When an extra step into the slippery lane landed her in the hospital. Poor marm. To her credit, it was a pretty acrobatic fall. I laughed a little until she didn't get up. She couldn't move. We had to slide her off the floor. She not only dislocated her shoulder, but broke her humerus as well. She had to have surgery, they put metal screws and plates in her arm. She's had a few unfortunate accidents over the years, boo, but we love her all the same. I love you marm.
