i love california. most especially i love san diego. we spent the week catching up with old friends, surfin' the waves, running nude on the beach, and visiting a very special place...disneyland.
i've realized since having kids a vacation is no longer a vacation. there is a difference between a trip and a vacation.
trip: a whirlwind of activity; dirty children;
living space that looks as tho someone has turned it upside down and shakin it a few times; tired children; 
eating snacks and treats all day long, then stuffing your face at dinner; running from restroom to restroom, praying for no accident; falling asleep on the couch immediately after the kids are down (so much for the quiet, relaxing evening you were looking forward to); tantrums; that priceless look on your childs face walking in the sand for the first time;
the enormous smile seeing the princesses in person; sandy poops; catching a huge wave on the boogie board; watching the kids find sand crabs; jumping the waves, running away from the waves.

really, there is no comparison. look at that happy family.

looks like so much fun. It's so true though it's not really a RELAXING vacation with kids huh, but it looks like a very fun trip. I want to go so badly now. We (which mostly means me) can't wait to go to disneyland!
Did Joe get mad at you for running around nude on the beach all the time?
