Just a Mom

We had a really good lesson in RS today on Womanhood. The comments were wonderful and it is so great to be uplifted and reguvinated for the coming week. I think being "just a mom" is the most wonderful thing in the world. I absolutely love being able to stay home with my kids and teach them and play with them and watch them grow. I hope I can reflect the joy I have in my calling as a mother to my children, so this is what they want to do when they get older.

The Joy of Womanhood
Margaret Nadauld

Women of God can never be like women of the world.
The world has enough women who are tough;
we need women who are tender.
There are enough women who are coarse;
we need women who are kind.
There are enough women who are rude;
we need women who are refined.
We have enough women of fame and fortune;
we need more women of faith.
We have enough greed; we need more goodness.
We have enough vanity; we need more virtue.
We have enough popularity; we need more purity.

My job is challenging, more so than I thought it would be, but it is so rewarding. I look at my kids fast asleep in their beds and realize how perfect they are, how pure and innocent, and how close they are to their Father in Heaven. I have a great responsibility in teaching my children good values in such a rough and cruel world, but they will survive I know it! They are strong little people already, and I love them so much!!

You are such a wonderful woman! I agree completely with you about the joy of mothering. As women, I really believe we are blessed to be wives and mothers. I loved the quote that they handed out in Relief Society too. I'm glad you added it! Love, Ali

awww that is so sweet. I love the orchid pic and your cute kids. I miss those RS lessons and it was good to get a reminder from you on being a mother. I have tried hard to remove the "just" part of a mom from my vocab. I am a mom and there isn't an exception to that.

Hi Cristelle! Do you remember me? It's Holly (Richey) Evans from high school. Your family is just so adorable. I just thought I'd drop you a line and say hello! I found your blog from Kamie.
